Now, now. If you notice the clear Rockyesque ending with Gleason winning on a slim technical margin you get the feeling Bukowski was the writers' true hero. And I just loved that Hemmingway backstabiing of Boggy for a shot at Faulkner. Sheer brilliance.

I tend to disagree here... Censorship is not necessarily a "bigger" issue. It is an eminently individual action. It involves the suppression of that which is considered undesirable. It is an intimate power relationship between censor and material. This is a clear example of censorship...
