Probably a cliche, but true. I was living in a roominghouse, drinking every night, struggling to get to work each day, hungover of course, and hated my job.
For some reason I don't remember I picked up a copy of Ham and Rye, read it and loved it.
Then I read his other novels when I could get them. Some poetry, short stories etc.
Recently I read "Women" which I think is his best book. I've just finished reading Sounes Bio, which I enjoyed, I own the dvd's: "Born into this" and Factotum. I guess iam a fan. Now i am here searching for more information.
