Red got off the freight when it slowed just outside the railroad yards and he took a shit behind some tall rocks to the north, wiped his ass with some leaves, then walked 50 yards off, sat behind another rock out of the sun and rolled a cigarette. Then he saw the hippies walking toward him. 2 guys and a girl. They had gotten off the train in the yard and were walking back...
