...still curious if anyone knows if “Style” as it appears in Mockingbird....was edited or did Buk add lines to it later. In the book it’s missing quite a few lines. No lines about art, Hemingway, dogs & cats, men in jail.
It’s one of my favorites that I heard Buk read before I had the book...

...should read “Revised as authors intent.” Don’t @#ck with artist intent. Alive, deceased, whatever. Don’t fu”# with the artists intent. Did I say “don’t FU#% with the artists intent.” The more I learn/read gets me more pissed.
Anyone else notice that the KCET 28min. edit has two readings that are not in the 46 or 60min. versions? They are “Man Mowing The Lawn” and “Shoelace”. Would be great if someone could do another edit and place them in the 60min. version.
...I’m sure this has been brought up before, but Bukowski’s reading of “Style” in San Francisco ‘72 doesn’t match what’s in my copy of Mockingbird Wish Me Luck. Were there lines added after the publishing of the original? Is this a case of heavy editing? Any info is appreciated.
...this doc. is one of my favorite bits of Bukowski on film. I love the parts filmed at the City Lights reading. Would be great to have an uncut version of that reading on DVD or even just a stream somewhere on the web. I listen to Poems & Insults all the time.
