    Racist part in Post office

I'll admit I'm not clued up on my racist epithets for white people.

    Racist part in Post office

I didn't know black people could read. *removes that* I think it's ridiculous to get bent out of shape over one potentially racist word in the book. As has been stated before, Hank repeatedly referred to women as cunts, etc, and no one complains about that except maybe the most hard-up...

Last CD you bought/ Book you read

I haven't bought a CD in months, the most recent vinyl I bought was a second pressing of Sex Pistols' Never Mind The Bollocks. Will be picking up Tom Waits' Bad As Me next week too.:)

    The pleasures of the drammed

I am partial to Highland Park, Isle of Jura (both the original and the Superstition), Glenmorangie, and I'm a big fan of Johnnie Walker. I always have a bottle of Red and Black in the house, usually a bottle of Green, occasionally Gold and I tried Blue Label on a cruise and it blew me away...

Almost everything. :) We refer to cinnamon and clove wine as mulled wine here in the UK and I believe in Europe too.:) It's cracking stuff.

    which fante to read first?

I'd say Ask The Dust or The Brotherhood of the Grape, but 1933 Was A Bad Year is an easily digestible start too, being such a short, and sadly incomplete work.

And reading the last few poems in it made me so sad, but so happy at the same time. Just reading Hank writing towards the end of his life, knowing...

No alcohol tonight, had over twenty pints down in Wales yesterday. Was my Grandad's funeral, so we wanted to celebrate his life. Cherry Coke for me. :)
