That will be in my nightmares.

Last CD you bought/ Book you read

Well, the last book I read was "Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows." I'd never read the series before, and I really enjoyed it. Kind of odd to say that on a Bukowski forum. I can't remember the last CD I bought, but I recently started listening to Echo & The Bunnymen. They're okay.

    The Worthless Thread

My husband is left-handed, but he learned to play guitar right-handed. Fascinating, I know.

And you have been here a lot longer, haven't you?

Nice to meet you. I'm a newbie, myself. :) I know what you mean about discovering Bukowski and being amazed with the simplistic beauty of his words. I think everyone on this forum probably has the same story. I was the opposite of you, though. Growing up, I thought poetry had to be...

    Redesigned Book Covers

Well, Liam, now that you're here we can speak to you directly. I don't think the covers work, because Bukowski had such a unique and beautiful face. Splicing it up that way takes away the impact of it, and it just looks...odd. Like you're trying too hard. Now, bear in mind I'm not critiquing...

    Blowing My Hero PDF?

Funny you should mention "Scarlet", because I just started reading it last night. I'm nearly finished, because it's that good. I didn't know much about Pamela Wood beyond what I'd read about her in "Women" and the Sounes biography, but I'm impressed with her writing. You can tell she still...

God, I would love to read that book. I've always regarded it as the Holy Grail of Bukowski memoirs.

    Favorite line from Buk?

Not really a line, but I think this passage from "Ham On Rye" describes how I felt when I first discovered Bukowski, and it's always stayed with me: "I opened the book at random and began reading. It was about a man at a piano. How false it seemed at first. But I kept reading. The man at...
