    F. A. Nettelbeck: unloved and unphased

I had an interesting correspondence with him for about a year before he died. He wrote some good stuff. Bug Death is, in my opinion, deserving of the praise it received.

    The Buk Shop

I've been checking out the catalog and am very impressed. You've got a lot of rare, high-quality items, all very well described. It would be a shame to lose all that information once the items get sold. Have you considered keeping the listings but marking them as "SOLD" and maybe moving them to...

    The Buk Shop

Wow, the shop is amazing! A great many cool items, many I've not seen before. I'm honored you chose my block print as the illustration on your flyer -- thanks again for that. This catalog will take some exploring and digesting, but my first impression is that it's a hell of an offering. Hope...

Trade paperback of Down for the Count With Charles Bukowski is now available

The only thing I would add after mulling it over is that if he thought some guy was hitting on his woman or she was flirting, then he could fly into a rage, and that's when you would see some pent-up anger from his history with unfaithful women.

Trade paperback of Down for the Count With Charles Bukowski is now available

Thanks for the book order. That's a good question: was he a ticking timebomb? Early in the morning, without enough coffee, without thinking it through, my immediate answer would be no, he didn't seem like a timebomb. But always ready to fight? Yes. Almost all the times I saw him, he had been...

    OLE 3 Variant Cover

That's unusual. Most of the time a variant cover is just slightly different, whereas this is a whole new design, and color vs black and white. Possibly a second printing?

Bukowski, A Life: The Centennial Edition

I read somewhere that the retitled bio had been revised from the original book that was titled Hank.

    Two roads diverged…

I'm dismayed by the loss of the database, but I've made my peace with it. And it's still there in the Wayback machine if it needs to be consulted. Time moves on, and everything disappears eventually. Even us.

I don't think I've seen it before either. Looks like it's worth spending some time exploring it.

My Small Collection (It's Nice to Have Some Things He Actually Touched)

Very nice items. I've still got a few myself but sold so many amazing Bukowski books to raise grocery money.

    I. O. U.

I don't think Bill is on the Forum much these days, but you can find him on Facebook. Jocelyn's here. Not sure who your smiling friend might be. I'm glad you're back, Father Luke.

Bukowski biographer and friend, poet Neeli Cherkovski, has died

There's an excellent long obituary for Neeli Cherkovski in today's New York Times. It even features covers of Laugh Literary and Man the Humping Guns, the little mag he edited with Bukowski. Here's link, but there may be a paywall. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/29/books/neeli-cherkovski-dead.html
