Matt Dillon on the Henry Rollins show

Did anybody check it out? He talked a lot about Factotum, and Bukowski. A good interview all around.

    factotum on ifc

I think it's being distributed with IFC Films (the theatrical release). I've seen that add as well, and nothing gave me the impression that it was being aired on the channel. It was just a mention in the ifc news program about it's release date.

I'd love to see that made into a film.

Seen any good movies lately? - Films you MUST see

The Jesus is Magic movie was terrific. You have to buy the soundtrack. Wonder Showzen is great. I attended a conservatory with a girl who was interviewed by Trevor in a Beat Kids segment (she was one of the girls at the Miss Connecticut beauty pageant).

Seen any good movies lately? - Films you MUST see

I finally got around to seeing "The Brave" based on the Greg McDonald book, really powerful stuff. I'm going to see the Strangers With Candy movie today, I'm a big fan of the series. So what about you all. Anything good to recommend?

Favorite Author (dead and still with us)

My tastes change but Scott Heim's last two novels (Mysterious Skin, and In Awe) were extraordinarily compelling. At this moment right now, he's my favorite author, and I can't wait for "We Disappear" to be released.

    Buk on Capote

I saw that a few minutes after reading the first response to this thread. I'm sure it's around somewhere.

Would somebody be kind enough to post the poem on this thread?

I loved Lily Taylor in this movie, and thought Matt Dillon's Chianski was pretty damn good. Has Pulp been made into a movie, or optioned for one?

    Buk on Capote

Thanks for that. I like Buk, and Capote for different reasons, and in someways find their personalities to be similar. I wonder if Buk wrote that resenting Capote, or out of embarrassment for the person he became.

    Buk on Capote

I remember reading a poem in a newer collection that I inferred to be about Truman Capote (He always wore a long dramatic scarf... his sardonic wit had dried up, and he became an old bitter frog-like man (or something to that effect). Can anybody tell me the name of the poem, and even better...
