    1962 reading

Seems they took the free download off their website. Does anyone have a digital copy they can post, or a link for one? I will donate to the station, but it is far less wasteful of resources to download an mp3 than to have a CD made and shipped. Thanks.

I'd Rather Be Reading Bukowski bumper sticker

I believe Richard Avol of Avol's Bookstore was printing them in the 70s, or early 80s at the latest.

    one of the rarest?????

Yes, _some_ are like that. Maybe even most. But I've met numerous honest, decent people in the book business and to presume they are all out to rip people off or present false information is ridiculous.

    one of the rarest?????

The "farther out" I am from the average man, the better I think I'm doing in life. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

The Best Way to Get Famous is to Run Away

I checked salon.com and they don't have this poem. I've googled for it for a while now, with no luck. Could you possibly email it? If so, my address is [email protected]

    one of the rarest?????

You're a complete and utter asshole. And not just an asshole--but an IGNORANT asshole. I could have 20 copies of To Kill a Mockingbird here too, but it'd cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars. Seeing as though there are only 28 copies of Crucifix listed at ABE, and they start at 175, with an...

    When did you discover Bukowski?

About eight years ago while at college I saw a pretty girl reading Tales of Ordinary Madness and I liked the photograph of Bukowski on the cover, so I got a copy. I didn't much care for the stories. Now and then a brilliant line would shine through, but overall I was unimpressed. Those few...

    Pulp....a future film?

Bill @ bospress.net: Sorry to hear that. I guess the hooves of standardbreds aren't too bad, though, right? Bill Sikes: I wasn't saying that they didn't have a right to interpret. I was merely saying that it'd most likely be a piece of junk, in my opinion. I don't know if the other films have...

    Pulp....a future film?

Sounds to me like it'd be another terrible movie capitalizing on Bukowski's fame. But I guess that's why I don't go to movie theaters. On a side note, Bill of bospress.net: Are you located near Dover Downs?

    Schopenhauer - Nietzsche - Bukowski

I used to keep a copy of _Parerga_ next to my bed and read it nightly. It's a little more suitable for this than _World as Will_. Thanks for posting your essay; it's unfortunate, however, that I don't read German.

    if you like bukowski...

You might want to read those authors whom Bukowski most admired (and many of whom are my favorites as well): Ernest Hemingway (specifically his early short stories) Louis Ferdinand Celine (specifically _Journey_--I don't think Bukowski liked much of his later work, although I do) John Fante...

    Only $1800.00 for a 7th printing paperback?

It may be merely a factor of the ISBN lookup in their database. Which of course is still inexcusable--I mean, you really want someone who can pay attention to detail if they're going to sell you something used. But it may not be intentional defrauding.

    one of the rarest?????

The value of a book (or anything for that matter) is entirely dependent upon the market, i.e. what people are willing to pay for the item. Print run is a factor in price determination, as well as in designating something as "rare," but it is not the only factor. And keep in mind, also, that...
