    Buk saves lives...

I took out the link to your site and deleted the other post that was just a link to your site. Maybe ease up on the self-promotion until you've been around for a while.

    Unknown Early Buk Photo?

He did, and he was welcomed with open arms and a warm heart.

Poor Beatles. Maybe one day their stuff will have some value... 😳💰

What are you listening to? The world really needs to know. Volume 8

Well, yeah. Do you have a better move? ;) That rehearsal footage has been around for a while. There are hours of it. Prince was a lot of things, but lazy wasn't one of them.

    Guitars, basses and other noisemakers

Some interesting stuff, but overall kind of a weird auction. That Ray Davies Flying V will probably get the highest bids. But buying something like that at an auction...with the 25% or whatever tacked on...ouch.

    Bukowski Handwriting Sample

You shouldn't hesitate to post anything. I wasn't saying it was fake. My first thought was whatever woman was around (there's no date) probably wrote it. It doesn't look like Linda King's writing, or Pam's. I'd say try comparing it to Frances...

    Bukowski Handwriting Sample

There aren't a ton of longhand samples of Bukowski's writing out there, but I think the note you've posted was written by someone else. Bukowski's longhand was more...round? Loopy? Anyway, doesn't look like the same hand wrote the Cooney note. 1945 1969

    THIS IS NOT A TEST

That podcast has been recommended to me in the past, but I can't handle that guy's take on a "radio voice." Swamp coolers are great, but we have central air conditioning, so we'll be cool. Inside the house, anyway.

    Bukowski's Los Angeles

The post office is still there, yeah. But again, I don't know what's to be gained from standing there looking at it. Even if you could get inside you'd see big air conditioned rooms full of automated machinery doing what Bukowski used to do. Though Philippe's is across the street, and I'd...

    Why the Beatles?

I think that's the last song they ever recorded together, as (more or less) The Beatles.

    Bukowski's Los Angeles

I'm afraid Bukowski's Los Angeles is long gone. You can see a few of the apartment buildings he lived in, but the neighborhoods are not the same neighborhoods Bukowski lived in. Though for the most part, the apartment buildings themselves are pretty much unchanged, the ones still standing. If...

    Net worth

He would have been eligible in March of 1979 (you had to be over age 50 with 20 years full time). Considering they were trying to get rid of him, and that the job was causing him all kinds of physical pain, it doesn't seem like there's any way he could have made it almost 10 more years.

What are you listening to? The world really needs to know. Volume 8

Roky Erickson, Leon Redbone, Dr. John - yet Phil Collins, Hall & Oates, Billy Joel, and the similar legions of rank and talentless businessmen in musician costumes still walk among us. And you talk of a merciful God? It is to laugh.

Ethereum, Bitcoin and Quatloos (or: How will Ethereum revolutionize the music industry?)

Yes. And I don't doubt that some cryptocurrency will have that moment, it seems inevitable, but it probably won't be Bitcoin. Bitcoin will be the Mosaic browser in the analogy. The first, yes, but overshadowed and long forgotten when crypto (Netscape) goes mainstream. What I wonder is when all...

Truth in advertising, I suppose. Yes, leaving Los Angeles for the beautiful high desert of Joshua Tree. The first time I've looked forward to a move in 20 years. 🚛 🌵 🥳

You Can't Always Get What You Want https://thisisnotatest.com/you-cant-always-get-what-you-want/ Hi. I've always been honest with you, except when I'm lying, so I have to say that I recorded this episode and put it on the shelf because I didn't think it was good enough. "Good enough" being a...

Bukowski's work hours at the PO?

Yes, it was made law in the 1940s. No arrangements could be made. He worked when they said he had to work. Hence the (occasional) 12 hour shifts.
