    Wormwood 46, 1972: Poetry, You Whore ; The Smoking Car;

    Yes, many thanks. I've read the second one before though. Guess the first one is the uncollected one. Though that one too rings a bell. I liked the following line in the first poem: To me that is the center of the poem. nice.

    Looking for a short poem

    Makes me think of Buk's "Marina-poems". Sort of starts out like a children's poem, but get's sidetracked by th "big asses". On the other hand kids just love to talk about naughty things like big asses.... :) Marina would have been 9 i -73. Maybe Buk wrote this after taking her to the zoo one...

    Longwood Ave on the 1940 census?

    I just read that they found the info for JD Salinger's address on the 1940 census. Maybe someone here can find 2122 S. Longwood Ave? Perhaps it could add some info to the timeline? I tried, but only got this far. This sort of drudgery seems perfect for the magic collaborative synergy of the...

    Feminist criticism - real, actual, recorded in black & white?

    Hi BB: Not sure what you mean with"actual feminist criticism", but you might find some scholarly papers linking Buk to gender studies the past few years. Perhaps you can find more info via this thread.

    A poem i don't understand

    You really are working hard on this, aren't you S? Despite the fact that you haven't really said much about the poem yet yourself . Why not give us a comparison to a Buk-poem you DO like. That might clear things up for you. Put some effort in yourself before asking the net for an easy answer.

    ArtCrimes Issue #11, April 1991

    I guess it a reference to the type of people who are "dead in life" that he often refers to - their blood dry in their veins- no juices flowing any more. The following definition would surely have tickled Buk's imagination: "Prepared from the dried bodies of females" ...:hmh: Still, the word...
