    Anyone here read Harper's Magazine

Well, we are talking about the AmericanReadingPublic, 6th grade level and all. Also do not forget that Vampire Romance is now one of the biggest fictional genres going! But I really am going to grab a subscription, I don't buy magazines usually mainly because of the cost. I love the little...

    Anyone here read Harper's Magazine

C-Dog, A good deal to be sure. The cover/news stand prices of Mags are just crazy! Publishing since 1850, quite an impressive run and hopefully they will continue. I'll keep an eye out and consider a subscrip. for myself! Thanks, CRB:)

First a computer crash and now ...

Yeah. Well there was video, but it had been taped over so many times that you couldn't really make a positive ID. It took my old man rolling in there with a cop for Wally to even look at the tape. As for ID, they did not ask(but try to buy a pack of smokes, I've seen them card 50year old men for...

First a computer crash and now ...

CarversDog, sorry to hear of your troubles, God, what a royal pain in the ass! The banks seem to try a bit harder now to help their clients in these situations, but they certainly are not speedy about it. I had a guy steal my visa/mac card and go to Wal-Mart at 4am on a Sunday Mornin' and buy...

Seen any good movies lately? - Films you MUST see

I'm looking forward to seeing her new show this January on Showtime. It looks to me like it'll be fun, hopefully they will allow her to 'steal the show'; which seems possible with her playing at least 4 different characters. I'll be very disapointed it if comes off as 'trying to hard', the way...

    Depression/Mental Health

Sorry PS, I should not of posted, more so I should not have made a spelling mistake, (expect a few more). You're right, I should be better rested, and most assuredly more sober. I did not intend to bolster addicts or addiction or madness. I enjoy Bukowski's letters more so than his other...

    Depression/Mental Health

I agree that his letters show his depresive side the most clearly. His letters are wonderful. Along with the poetry the greater picture is created, the fuller circle. Bukowski's insomnia and alcholism are classic traits or 'symptoms' that run trough artists/shamans/peoples of all times and...

    Depression/Mental Health

Yeah, but don't forget that same Doctor/Psychiatrist also SLEPT with her. I don't say this to minimize her or her talent. I think Anne Sexton was a wonderful poet. But If that same DR. along with her husband hadn't made her get shock therepy treatments, she might still be here with us today. CRB
