Barney Rosset, Grove Press Publisher, Dies at 89 (1 Viewer)

Bukowski mentioned him various times in connection with Jack Micheline. Obviously Micheline once pissed in Barney Rossets shoe at a party. I recall a poem and a Notes-column dealing with that incident.

Also an interesting interview at Paris Review --> http://www.theparisreview.org/interviews/1187/the-art-of-publishing-no-2-barney-rosset

What crap they had to go through to get D.H. Lawrence and Henry Miller published in the US is unbelievable.
Guts and a nose for great literature = the best combination existing.

Read the Times obit. Am I incorrect or did they fail to mention Selby and the Last Exit legal issues? Wasn't Last Exit Grove? And Ho Chi Minh? Who the fuck under 45 remembers that lunatic? Unless you live in his city, that is.
