hello everybody
just seen locked in the arms of a crazy life the other day and was thinking of getting it.i read the barry miles biography a few years ago but wasnt too impressed,just wondering what do people think is the best buk biography

Locked in the Arms of a Crazy Life by Howard Sounes is excellent. If you read nearly everything in this forum you will be able to fill in a few blanks but that would take a long time.

I've read both bios, but I think Sounes' is better. Might even read that again at some point.

Does anyone know of any other biographies of Bukowski in the works? Hoping the Sounes bio is not the last definitive bio

I think Bukowski's letters tell the tale the best. And they're entertaining to read.

I never got through the Sounes book because there seemed to be a lot of inaccuracies. Plus, he writes rock star biographies and his formula just fell flat with Bukowski.

'Scarlet' was the most interesting - tons of insight - although Pamela's window was short.
