Bukowski & Modest Mouse (1 Viewer)

ok so obviously the band has a song titled Bukowski but as I was talking to my supervisor the other day he mentioned that he heard "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" was named after "something by that guy too"

Any truth to that? I've been surfing for about an hour now and can't seem to find anything.

Isn't that the CD that has these lyrics?
"It honestly was beautifully bold / Like trying to save an ice cube from the cold?

the bukowski song is on "good news for people who love bad news". maybe your soup is confusing the title of modest mouse's newest, "we were dead before the ship even sank" with buk's "the captain is out to lunch and the sailors have taken over the ship"?

That's from the song "Fire it Up"

james - you could be right but he dosen't know the first think about Buk which made me curious as to where he would have heard it from.
