Evidence number 8 1964, review of It Catches... by Al Purdy

Black Swan

Abord the Yorikke!
"Receiving this book thru the mails is a bit like having a tribe of Indians in full warpaint dropped into your mailbox. It's a Christmas tree of a book-dressed up with varied colored paper, and skilfully & lovingly put together. From the value point of view alone, it's worth any man's five bucks. An ugly/beautiful lavish anomaly of a book, judged by the usual standards of contemporary pinch-penny publishing".
