Looks like the first appearance for both of these. "The End of the Funhouse" is the same poem as "Funhouse" with some minor edits.



He had to wait until 1974 to see the (Pacific Ocean Park) pier finally torn down.

There were half a dozen fires on it between 1969 and 1974, when they finally put that thing out of its misery. He probably wrote the poem after the second fire in 1970. That's the fire that burned down the Cheetah Club, a rock club on the pier (that was previously the Aragon Ballroom - where Lawrence Welk got his start - before the pier went bankrupt).
