Hello (1 Viewer)

A week ago, I came across Mr. Bukowski entirely by coincidence. I searched for him on Google and listened/watched him on Youtube. I find him fascinating. Since the public library will be closed on and off over the Christmas (2024) season, I put holds on and signed out a good number of his books. I've listened/watched more biographical content about him on Youtube and am now reading, "Ham on Rye" as his first book I'm reading. Thank you.

Thank you so much! "New world" puts it perfectly. I have many books that I think I SHOULD read and all too often I fall asleep after just a few pages. (Sustained reading has always been a challenge.) However, I was up this morning at 5:30 a.m. and reading more of "Ham on Rye" and in two days am now half-way through the book. It is truly wonderful to read in so many ways. I feel like a parched-dry sponge, soaking up his words. Mr. Bukowski seems so straightforward, unfiltered, starkly honest, sad, funny, angry, lonely and good company to name just a few. He is so many things all rolled into one. It is my privilege to have discovered him and his richness. I am so very lucky.
