I think your sober pals might suggest not reading Bukowski, if you have a drinking problem you can't control, and if reading about drinking might tempt you to fall off the wagon and resume your inexorable slide down the path to misery and destitution.

That seems extreme to me though. I know you're stronger than that. Besides, everybody knows that a couple of beer can't kill you.
