The Horror....
Bring back the Horror! These days, outside of the Breeders Cup and the Triple Crown, you would struggle to find a track that looked like this anywhere in the US. Most tracks could care less about the on track turnover as long as the online numbers are good. In many ways, Buk would barely recognize today's on track experience.

Usually wrong.
It was always crowded like this back when I went to the track with my pal Mike who was a hardcore gambler and a big Bukowski fan and collector. We went to some of the same So Cal tracks Buk did, but I never saw him there -- my friend did a few times. I wasn't into gambling and only bet a buck or two on each race. I just went for the experience.
