...kicks ass. I've read 2 of his books now--Indonesia and Last Days of the Cross--and they are both fun and engaging reads, about wayward wandering poets and the hand-to-mouth scraping by. If you don't know this guy's work, hunt him down and give it a look. He's easily been my favorite discovery of 2011.
