Short Story about John Fante (I Meet the Master) (1 Viewer)

Hi all-

I've been scouring the past few days for this piece I am thinking of.. from what I recall, it's basically a short story format in which Bukowski details what his relationship was with John Fante- Buk details how he discovered Fante, how they got in touch and met, spending time in the hospital with him, etc etc..

Just hoping to give it another read.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think that's it, however- this was more than several pages long, from what I remember. For part of it, Bukowski wrote about driving to Fante's place with his current girlfriend and having dinner with Fante and his wife, or something of the sort.. Then detailed repeat visits to John in the hospital. There was dialogue in this.

It was first published in Oui, December 1984 & January 1985.
