Sun Dog Press & My First Book

I really enjoyed reading these. I normally don't like seeing folks slinging negativity at eachother, but the whole stream of posts was actually quite funny. I read a couple of the Valdez poems out of curiosity. I don't see the slightest connection to Bukowski. An interesting approach to getting...

9 in Nine - A 9 Day Printing & Bookbinding Odyssey from Bottle of Smoke Press

I know money is more often than not a determining factor in what we can afford to purchase through the small press. I am certainly not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but I have somehow found the money to continue purchasing all of the Bottle of Smoke releases to date, especially the...

9 in Nine - A 9 Day Printing & Bookbinding Odyssey from Bottle of Smoke Press

I ordered one of the Clamshell sets, so hanging out big time for that. Which additional hardback did you get and how did it compare to the paperbacks ? I am sure it would have been great.

David Barker - Death at the Flea Circus from BoSP

I think this is my favorite of the little paintings you did for the bureau. Looks fantastic ! This is a knock out clamshell. It really is incredible looking !

9 in Nine - A 9 Day Printing & Bookbinding Odyssey from Bottle of Smoke Press

Wow, I'm completely speechless... All the covers in your photo and the clamshell to house them all in are really amazing to see - simply awe inspiring. This has to be one of the most ambitious BosPress projects to date. You've certainly outdone yourself this time Bill. Cannot wait to see my...

    Most overrated bands/performers

Yea, I've seen Metallica live, mostly in clubs when I lived in the San Francisco bay area many years ago. This was at the time when bands like Slayer, Exodus and the like were coming to the fore. One of the best Metallica shows I was privy to was at the Keystone Palo Alto on their Ride the...

Which do you prefer: Bukowski poems, short stories, or novels

letters I think I get the most enjoyment out of his letters, then poems. The short stories are fun, followed by the novels... but his letters have the most punch for me.

    Most overrated bands/performers

Metallica is way over rated today. Back in their hayday, the first 4 albums, unstoppable great metal. These guys should have packed it in when Cliff died or at least after their "and Justice for All" release. Don't know what people see in them today ? Slayer has gone from strength to strength as...

Most underrated band/performer of all time

Jocelyn Pook is quite under rated. Has a similar sound to Dead Can Dance (Australian). Pook did the soundtrack to the movie Eyes Wide Shut. Most memorable track set the scene in the mansion during the orgy.
