Found the complete issue of Outsider online. Very good quality and downloadable. This site seems to have quite a bit of original Buk-stuff available...

    How I met Bukowski

Translation of poetry should be like a cover-version of a song. I know cover-versions of Dylan songs that I like better than the original. And I know poetry translations of Blake to Norwegian tht I like better than the original too. Anyway - poetry "translation" is best done by a poet.

Poem for an x-president - and plenty of other modern day politicians ...

... and the fact it was written in Germany in the 1930s says plenty about today's political situation. It made me look up Brecht in "Screams From the Balcony" and yes, Bukowski mentions Brecht positively a few places there. Reading Brecht's collected poems in english and norwegian this summer...

Wow. How did this artist slip under my radar for so long?

Anyway, glad I finally discovered her: Wow.

Very nice - MANY thanks! What is the year of publication? Reads like something from the 50's. The paper looks quite yellow. Very nice find.

    Junk Mail (movie)

Here's a link to the Norwegian movie Junk Mail. Definitely inspired by Buk - especially Post Office? Link also has English subtitles. Looks like its posted by the director himself.

    Happy Birthday Hank !

Skål for Buk's 100th! Here's a mention of it in the socialist paper Klassekampen: The quote from Linda goes thus: "If he was around now I think this suffering world would either kill him, or make him ever stronger. Likely stronger. Yes, stronger." They got the quote here: EasyReaderNews
