    Hello, at last

The poems are my favorite (I often think the "real" Buk came out in his poetry), but I also like the short stories and novels. I've read all the novels but Pulp, and my favorites were Post Office and Ham On Rye. I haven't bought BIWDIF yet, or Hot Water Music, but they're on my list.

    Hello, at last

I posted a bit back in February, but have only been lurking since then. Well, I figured it was time to grow some balls and introduce myself...I'm L.T., and I just started reading Bukowski within the past couple of years. Ever since I purchased Run With the Hunted at a used bookstore, I have...

Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum, but I've been lurking for quite a while. I started reading Buk a couple of years ago, and I can honestly say I've never had an author give me the kind of reaction he does. Though he was undoubtedly a flawed human being in real life, his writing cuts...

Which do you prefer: Bukowski poems, short stories, or novels

I love it all, but the poetry strikes a chord in me the novels and short stories don't. Whenever I read it, I feel...I can't even think of the word. "Powerful" is the first word that comes to mind, but that's not quite right.
