Bukowski's effect on how you work (or don't work)

George Carlin is great. Chris Rock also has a bit where he talks about his first job at ( if I remember correctly) The Red Lobster. The difference between a job and a career.

Movies - Top 10 of all time

I rarely go on a computer so if somebody has mentioned this film already just delete the goddamn post. It's called Ikiru, a Japanese film made in 1952. Damn good film.

    Good Documentaries

I'm not sure if it's ok to plug a documentary or not, but I think most people who appreciate Buk will really enjoy watching this film. It's called I, Curmudgeon by Alan Zweig.

Jesus Christ, your right! Hahaha. I gotta buy a computer so I can actually read all the posts. Even this goddamn post is late.

Bukowski and Classical Music - anyone else at a loss...

I'm pretty sure that Buk once stated that it was music more than the written word that sustained him through all the bullshit in life.

Canned by Franklin Schneider. Writes about working ten jobs in ten years in a raw gritty and funny way. Check it out.

    Alvaro Mutis

Has anybody read a book Alvaro Mutis? While talking to Jim Christy ( the Buk Book), he recommended I check him out.

Book to read Just a quick post here. Driving home from work one day I heard this author being interviewed on the radio. It blew my fuckin' mind and I knew I had to read her book. I wasn't disappointed. The author's name is Xinran and the book is called The Good Women Of China.

    Bukowski's funeral

I recommend all of you read "god is not Great" by Christopher Hitchens. It'll probably answer most of what is being discussed. Regarding the joke about the buddhist monk who buys a hotdog, you left out the ending. When the monk pays and asks for his change, the vendor says "change comes from...

    George Carlin

I was never a huge fan of George Carlin but a friend of mine burned me a copy of It's All Bullshit And It's All Bad For You. I believe it's an HBO special he did a couple of years before he died. I had some good laughs watching it. Check it out if you can.

    Perception of THE DOORS

I'm gonna defend Densmore also. I thought Riders On The Storm was very honest and straightforward. Very little bullshit. Reflective on how sad it is to see a close friend sink into alcoholism with little you can do about it. As far as the "new-agey" thing is concerned, I know he started reading...
