    Forums changelog

Updated Xenforo to 2.3, the biggest change is the light/dark switcher which should follow your system's preferences. I have disabled the "Bukowski Dark" style since we can rely on the light/dark switcher. Let me know if there are any visual or other annoyances.

    Database updated

Added a "posts that link here" section to relevant pages. It's automatically generated on each database update. I think "What Matters Most Is How Well You Walk Through The Fire (1999)" has the most links.

We lost some rare material in the database conversion

I didn't want to see it disappear, and it's been a fun project to restore.

    Database updated

Added a letter index Added a section on how to add letters to the database. Moved the "notes-of-a-dirty-old-man.php" database page to an old thread. Fixed ~1k old bukowski.net links on the forums, which now point to the new database. If you're reading a thread filled with broken bukowski.net...

We lost some rare material in the database conversion

It's hard to imagine the 20-something year effort it took Hannah to fill out the content. Each one of the nearly ten thousand pages represents a material that was researched, collected (I assume no small effort for many of them) and typed in by hand. I'm honored to help bring it back to life...

    Database updated

I removed the sidebar navigation from the works section for performance, but we still have the index and search. To do: 1) make contributor thread to coordinate additions of: timeline, fbi files, comparisons, uncatalogued manuscripts, missing images/audio, and clean up of dead links. 2) write...

    Database updated

https://bukowskiforum.com/database/ The converted database is ready for viewing / suggestions / comments. For everyone who's been clamoring for a zip file, you can grab one here. The git repository is public. The structure was created for ease of transfer from SQL to mkdocs. I'd like to hear...

    The Buk Shop

The Buk Shop has been very helpful as a reference for rebuilding the db.

    Database updated

For "works", many are marked as "collected" and I don't know what that means. I assume it means it appeared in a major book, but would like some clarity. And for "books", many are marked "as_major" and I'd like some clarity on that as well. Is it a subjective opinion? Anyway, if we can infer...

    Database updated

No need for .zip sharing, it's the first day of spring and as promised I've begun. Hannah started this SQL database in the mid 90s, and I assume wrote the php as well. A fully custom CMS is beyond anything I've created, but at least I can understand it. After a couple pages of notes and an...

    Database updated

Sorry it's taking so long, I had a couple different platforms in mind but I've decided on building this out with mkdocs, which should make it possible for everyone in the community to edit, and for moderators to review those edits. I hope to begin work this spring. If anyone is impatient and...

    Database updated

I don't know anything about literature but I can display data from a database. I can most likely update your existing php code to 8.x as well. If you'd like final approval on the UI, you got it.
