Bukowski for a breakup? (1 Viewer)

My friend's fiancee left him. I'm not sure on the messy details, but he's taking it pretty hard and has quit working. I want to send him a poetry collection or book, since Love is a Dog From Hell and You Get So Lonely were helpful to me when I was younger.

Any recommendations?

Those are a good start. Bukowski is hot shit funny on a dreary fucking downer, and what your buddy needs is a couple of good yuks.

Bukowski can be shit your pants funny. Heartbreaking-ly so…

Thanks all, I went with the French translation of Post Office (didn't know how his poetry would translate) and a bottle of Glenfiddich.
Hi, Trevor,
I am French and bilingual. I have read Bukowski in English . I tried one French translation and unfortunately It didn’t translate very well. Still worth reading ?.

This is my translation. ?
Same thing happens when you read Céline in English. You miss a little of the flavour of the original.
Whiskey always helps to fill in the gap.
