Black Swan

Abord the Yorikke!
I really enjoy Boris Vian.
I discovered him when I was 16 and
for the first time, laughed out loud reading.
I picked up a couple of used copies a few weeks ago to find out that some of his fictional characters remind me somehow of Bukowski's and Céline's.
Amazing detailed descriptions of absurd characters in a (as a matter of fact) kind of way .

Vian was also a great jazz musicien.
Anyone else familiar with Vian?

it was Vian's chanson-style that got Gainsbourg into chanson in the late 50s.
(Gainsbourg once said in an interview something like: when i heared Boris Vian, I said to myself - I can do that.)
