Id say a lot. I think Miller was one of the first to have the balls to say what he wanted to say. They exchanged letters to

Bukowski admired some of Miller's work, but in some pieces thought he missed the mark.

Bukowski praised Miller on occasion in the early days, but he critized him for the most part. Some say he was jealous that LouJon published two books by Miller. Regardless, I don't think he owed Miller so much as a courtesy flush.
