it's funny, but the one written on the 16th looks like a 'good' copy typed up to send out to magazines. the one on the 18th looks like the first draft.

You can see the same thing with two different copies of yours.

Surely in each case, we're just looking at 2 identical Xeroxes, or a typed poem and an edited/corrected carbon/xerox? The typed character positions seem identical.

I'm sure that's the case, yes. The copies of yours are certainly made from the same typescript.

They are different copies though, which would seem to indicate that he sent the essentially the same work to different places. Which we already know he did, but once he started using the copier I guess it becomes more evident.
