“The essential doesn't change.” Beckett
William McIlvanney, Scottish author, died 12/5/15 at the age of 79. Yes, I missed it. I only recently discovered his work this past summer and devoured his Laidlaw trilogy. Just out of curiosity I decided to dig a little further today when I found out he died. He wrote what he referred to as Tartan noir and yeah I can see where he's coming from naming his writing that. If you like crime writing, noir, a bit of philosophizing and a smart yet unpretentious style then he is worth checking out. http://personaldispatches.com/posts.html
