    Book rankings

I haven't been here in a while. And it looks like things have really changed during my absence. How the hell did "The Roominghouse Madrigals" and "Dangling In The Tournefortia" become the lowest ranked poetry volumes? Do people no longer appreciate the great man's two greatest poetry books?

    PULP is spectacular!

As much as I like "Pulp", I think it's crazy to rank it amoung Buk's greatest works. Funny? Yes. But Life changing and Profound? No. Bukowski wasn't very good at writing highly ploted works, and this really shows in "Pulp". Strictly for hardcore Bukowski fans. Too full of esoteric in-jokes for...

quote - "if you're losing your soul ..."

I think it might be from the short story " A dollar and twenty cents", from "Tales of Ordinary Madness". I could be wrong, but I seem to remember something along those lines in that story. It's been a while since I read the book.

    betting on the muse-signed?

sorry for bringing this up then. I didn't know. If I had 200 I'd buy it too. But I can;t even remember the last time I had a spare 200. I can't remember the last time I had a spare 50. I'm suprised I haven't heard about that before(the inbound page). Pretty cool. Once again sorry.

    betting on the muse-signed?

I Haven't been here in a while. But I was just on e-bay and saw a listing for a signed copy of "betting on the muse". This isn't right. Buk died in 1994 and Betting on the muse is from 1996. I don't think this could be an honset mistake. I don't know much about it but the signature looks dodgy to...

    Bukowski's thoughts on J.D Salinger

I was just wondering if anyone knew what bukowski thought about J.D Saliger. I only remember him mentioning him once, something about Salinger "deciding the world wasn't worth writing for". I have also heard some speculation about Buk naming "Ham on Rye" as some sort of homage to "Cather In the...

Which Bukowski poem seizes you with recognition?

"The Singular Self" from "burning in water drowning in flame" or "Shoelace" from "Mockingbird.." come to mind immediately . when i read them first they really struck a chord with me. It was like they were saying exactly the right thing at exactly the right time . I won't go in to why but they...

Bob Dylan lovers of the World, Unite!

really great track but it's not really a new track. It's an alternative take of a song that appeared on the 2001 album"Love and Theft". I actually prefer this one to the official release. also Sheryl Crow covered it some time in the late 90's. But if you like your ears please don't subject them...
