downmaster, Bukowski's writing style is a cross between "left-behind" rapture scriptures and the captions under the polaroids on an old Hustler magazine Beaver Hunt page.

What I understand he based his early work on readeroriented semiotics with just a hint of russian formalism while his later books (Hot Water Music and forward) are clearly influenced by ezras new criticism and the emerging ecocriticism.
