Bukowski and Raymond Carver (2 Viewers)

I love both writers. To what extent was Raymond influenced by Bukowski stylistically?

They both focus on low lives, alcoholism, doggedness in the face of hopelessness etc... Raymond was younger and for sure a better short story writer than Bukowski but you could argue Bukowski covered more ground overall.

I am interested in their relationship.

At least Carver was better served. I was never crazy about Carver, when all along it was Gordon Lish
I wasn't crazy about.

That's excellent that Carver liked the Buk, they work from similar turf. I love both their writing.
