Greetings from the west coast of BC (2 Viewers)

It's all my sister's fault.
For reasons lost to time, my sister exposed me to the writings of Bukowski back in the early '90's. She bought me The Roominghouse Madrigals for my 22th birthday. At that time, I was heavy into Beat literature(Kerouac being my favorite) and delving into the works of Alan Watts. I was a child of the sixties growing up in the nineties. I must admit that Bukowski didn't make much of an impression on me then. It wasn't until I picked up a copy of The Beat Reader edited by Ann Charters and read Bukowski's elergy for Neal Cassady that I became fascinated with him.

Anyway, almost twenty years later and some thirty odd books of Buk's in my collection,
his writing still effects me deeply.

I hope I haven't bored anyone with this introduction, I am certainly not a writer, nor pretend to be one.

Look forward to contributing and sharing my respect for Bukowski's work.

Cheers

A fine introduction. With 30-odd books, there are likely a few unread gems to go. 43 would cover the generally-considered number of "common issues." Give or take an argument or a mis-count by me, here or there.

Welcome, BUK72.
