I've written a 5-volume saga about a gay autistic cowboy who is a Nazi. Any publishers interested? (he also beats his wife!)Now if we could find a movie about a gay autistic cowboy
Of course, editiors may disagree. That is a bit sickening.[/QUOTE]Well, that's a different type of fish, someone who is comfortable plainly stating how great they are. Ha. Usually very creative people will think of a less obvious way to say it. ;)"...As for my writing, I keep raising the bar as I have for 50 years in the business. So, the writing keeps getting better with each story and each book.
Or, they'll even have doubts that they are any good, fear they are losing their powers, think their stuff is getting worse, not better, and pray nobody notices. Bukowski had confidence in himself as an artist, but he also was thankful that the miracle kept arriving -- he didn't blow his own horn too loudly.Well, that's a different type of fish, someone who is comfortable plainly stating how great they are. He keeps raising hell at the bar, more likely...:p"...As for my writing, I keep raising the bar as I have for 50 years in the business.

That is pretty funny. It does sound like his writing is getting better with every novel! Hell, from incest porn to regular porn is probably a big leap, so "good for him!"Here's a couple books by a "Jory Sherman"
Holy shit. Ha ha.Here's a couple books by a "Jory Sherman" (are there more?) from an ad in the October 11, 1968 issue of Open City. You could either visit the Hollywood Shopper on Sunset Blvd or mail your order in.
Now, now, these are "case histories", scientific stuff. Oedipal stuff. Important stuff. It was, of course, the 1960s and sexual boundaries had to be knocked down in whatever way possible. Using "case histories" was just one way. From porn and incest stories to run-of-the-mill western stories. What a great leap forward, what progress...:D
True! You have to take into account the times they were written in.Now, now, these are "case histories", scientific stuff. Oedipal stuff. Important stuff. It was, of course, the 1960s and sexual boundaries had to be knocked down in whatever way possible. Using "case histories" was just one way.
And, anyway, Buk got into lots of shit for one of his fictional stories about a child molester. ("The Fiend"?)
Anyone seen "The Woodsman" ? Its a disturbing tale of a paroled offender and his "rehabilitation". Nonetheless, great acting from both Kevin Bacon and Mos Def (as Bacon's parole officer). Kevin Bacon really was terrific in an unsympathetic role. It's not often that somebody writes a story about a child molester where we view it from the molesters point of view.
