I love 1990s Buk stuff. It’s not always on target, but he was sending it out to so many places Martin couldn’t possibly keep up and later collect and edit.

This one is from Transit #1 from 1993 and it reminds me of why I kept reading Bukowski when I first found him. I think this is one of those short story poems that could have been written much earlier in his career. This is the kind of poem that made me keep reading Bukowski.

Both of those are slightly different from each other (not uncommon when Martin republished a poem - oops, guess Bukowski re-wrote this one twice, right?) and both are different from the version here.
