I've always wondered what the "vault" where all of his tapes lived actually looked like. Maybe not surprisingly, it actually is a vault...

All of the tapes are in Los Angeles now for restoration and preservation.

These are from the county sheriff's pictures that they released the other day. They released everything related to the case - photos, video, audio of interviews...it's a lot of files, almost 3,000, some of which I would like to un-see.

I first heard about "the vault" in 1991 and was surprised he was THAT prolific at THAT point in time. I think it's a good thing in the right hands. We'll see... Anyone got pics of Salinger's vault? I don't think that one is being done well... It may kill a mockingbird....
