they, all of them, know (1 Viewer)

Is there a version/performance of this poem that ends with "a screaming woman on the balustrade is more than a man can bear" rather than "a snarling wife..."?

One of my favorites. The four published printed versions (Crucifix, Penguin Modern Poets, Burning in Water, and The Pleasures of the Damned) all have "a snarling wife." Two recorded versions exist: one on the Terror Street/Agony Way tape and the other on a CD entitled Bukowski Reads his Poetry. I don't know what appears on those. I have an LP named Bukowski Reads his Poetry, released by Real Gone Music, but it's a different release than the one that contains this poem.

The people have spoken.
