Transit No 6 (1994) – Charles Bukowski tribute issue

The database lists this issue with its four poems, but there's a lot more Buk
in it, so here are the full contents and details.

Transit No 6, Mid Summer 1994
Editor: Kevin Ring
Cover photo of Buk by Linda Lee Bukowski

Contents:
- 40,000 (poem)
- somebody knocking (poem)
- Hank and the Bluebird: article by Kevin Ring on Buk and Beat Scene. It quotes
several of Buk's letters to him (incl. June 16, 1990 and June 1991) and the
opening of "The Bluebird".
- In the Shadow of the Computer: piece on In the Shadow of the Rose (Black
Sparrow, 1991), apparently from the Black Sparrow press release, quoting a
few lines from "my first computer poem".
- Charles Bukowski: Outsider Looking Out: interview by Kevin Ring, reprinted
from Beat Scene 11 (Autumn 1990).
- Charles Bukowski: Letters to Beat Scene: four letters to Kevin Ring, dated
October 8, 1990; February 9, 1993; June 7, 1991; January 27, 1990.
- my worst rejection slip (poem)
- Buk Obit: Gary Pulsifer (the fuller version of his Guardian obituary of
March 10, 1994)
- so now? (poem)

Notes:
- The letters and the interview aren't in the database yet. The interview isn't
listed under Beat Scene 11 either; the database only has Beat Scene 12 and 20.
- According to Ring, "so now?" came on the morning of the day Buk died: a single sheet in the usual brown envelope, with no letter. Buk died that afternoon.
- "somebody knocking" is still uncollected.
- In the February 9, 1993 letter, Buk gives his very harsh verdict on
Cherkovski's biography Hank.
