The story if I remember correctly starts with a man and a woman on bed in the bedroom, he's drunk as usual, and she is reading Women in Love by D. H. Lawrence. The story ends with him turning into a frog — I believe she finds him in the toilet. I read this story on the old site and now I can't find it; can someone please tell me what's the title of it and where can I find it?
There is two other stories (articles) that could also be found on the old website (they were placed together, if memory serves me) — one is of Bukowski telling off on this "young friend" of his who is pestering him, who has pretentions of being a writer or what it takes to be a good writer and Bukowski just wants to get drunk and go to the races and tells him that. I remember that the story talks a lot about the races. It was written or published in 1972 (? or early '70s at least). There's one more piece but I can remember nothing about it just know that it was on the same page, linked together with these other two stories — and the one about the rejection slip, &tc..
I am perfectly aware that these foregoing descriptions could be about any stories Bukowski ever wrote frankly! There're basically all about that; but I hope that certain details such as the 1972 and old site reference and the detail about the story of Lawrence is clue enough for some of you to point me to the right direction, to exactly that which I'm looking for.
That's all I got,
Thanks guys!
