Haven't opened your link yet but I've read several novels of Marquez when I was in my early twenties and I loved his books, but I never re read him. Same with Hesse and a couple of other novelists, you read them and then you go on. Good memories, though. RIP Marquez.
 
As a writer, he was never to my taste, though I read most of his marquee stuff. What always interested me about Marquez was his link to Castro, who suppressed so much art and jailed so many writers. His near-blind support of that regime was always bizarre to me.
