Best movie moments (1 Viewer)

I'll make it up next time by posting a Bergman clip. A favorite film in depicting the achievement of the will. The 36th Chamber of Shaolin:

Just noticed my post above: Bad grammer? Very nice. How about some bad spelling?

Just saw Antichrist a moment ago and I'm honestly disappointed. I expected it to be more. But that's just me.
I saw this movie last week. Charlotte Gainsbourg certainly does not shy away from controversial subjects. I am not sure how Netflix got away with showing this with the graphic penetration and way too much of William Dafoes erect penis. You don;t have to wait long. At about 1 minute in, you get to see full hardcore penetration.

And for those that are Charlotte Gainsbourg fans, you do see a Hustler-style vaginal shot and it is not in a good way.... Really, really fucked up.

Maybe if I was high, but this movie was disturbing and seemed to be shocking for shocking's sake, if that makes sense.

Bill

p.s. Just in case anyone out there wants to be titillated. The sex is disturbing. Not good disturbing even...

p.p.s. I guess I'm saying that this movie is not so good.

When I read Cannes booed Trier and reckoned he'd gone too far and was persona non grata I had the compulsion to approve of the film even more. It is a flawed film but it depicts a relationship based on carnality - the wheel turns and bodies are broken. You have to understand that Trier is a cynical shit when it comes to relationships.

Yep, pretty boring. I know this is best movie moments... still... Antichrist didn't shock me at all, nor was the story thrilling but the whole movie seemed like a collage from far better (and older) films. The only good scene was the fox saying "Chaos reigns." The rest was very predictable and I got tired of seeing Gainsburg's naked ass.

Now I'll have to search for a best movie scene that you can play Inka soccer with

You'd have to agree, though, that "shock" is relative. Many will find it so no matter how you feel about it. I've seen one film in the past few years that I truly consider shocking and won't mention it here for fear some curious sort will look it up. I didn't find the film boring, just not fully realized. Play Inka soccer with? That's a chick team! You dirty rascal!

Today is birthday from Patrick Dewaere, talentued french actor who commited suicide in 1982 at the age of 35.
So, for the circumstance, a little scene from the cult movie "Les Valseuses" ("the bollocks, but traduced by "Going Places") :

Great scene, great movie and great actor. Sadly, like the great Klaus Kinski, his career isn't representative of is whole acting talent. He played on a lot of B or Z shitty actions movies. He also played in "La donneuse", a pornographic Z-movie directed by the french Jean-Marie Pallardy (infamous specialist of erotics, pornographics or actions cheap movies.)

Johannes,
this film is part of a trilogy. I have watched these films a few years ago.
The Vengeance Trilogy (Korean: 복수 삼부작) are three films, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003), Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005), directed by South Korean film director Park Chan-wook, which dealt with the themes of "revenge, violence and salvation". Originally these three films weren't the official series, but as spiritual successors, two films (Oldboy & Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) followed the film Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.[1][2]

There were tons of Pulp Fiction clones that came out and the only one that I would say shouldered up to it evenly was Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. Ritchie sort of got derailed with that whole Madonna affair.

This is the only film I viewed multiple times at a movie house. Not in my favorite 10 due to the fact I've settled for mediocrity over the years (never too late to change that). Watching it right now on TCM.

The director's cut of Amadeus is worth watching. You get the story of why Constanze has such a beef with Salieri (which I never quite understood while watching the original) and a few other tidbits. There's also a good "making of," and a director's commentary, which I have to admit, I've never listened to (the director's cut is really long - I'm not sure I need three hours of Milos Forman talking about locations and sets and whatnot).

I know of the scene you speak of. Never listened to the commentary track, either, and the director perhaps offers his rationale for cutting the scene. Regardless of the reason it should have been left in.

Every country has their own unique slang term for the girl depicted in this film. She's from Essex and I believe would be regarded as a chav. Good film IMO.

CANNES, France (AP) "” Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier was booted out of the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday for a bizarre, rambling news conference in which he said he sympathizes with Adolf Hitler.

The comments had ignited shock from the moment they spilled out of the director's mouth, causing Kirsten Dunst, an actress in his film "Melancholia," to lean over and whisper to von Trier, "Oh my God, this is terrible."

Oops.

There's nothing more awesome than a band that plays at such a low volume that you can hear the guitars cracking when they destroy them.
