Best movie moments (1 Viewer)

I didn't know that, the Blu Ray release is very well deserved. I'm sure it will be great. The shark scene is awesome mixed with fabio frizzi score, and what we have is a cult classic.

This is a difficult thread.
I've thought about it for weeks.
One scene that comes to mind is the opening scene in Saving Private Ryan.
I'm too lazy to find a link from Google, but, its a super popular movie and I'm sure many of you have seen it.

Not sure about the opening. Been a while since I've watched the whole thing. I like this "gripes go up" scene. Seems to answer the "what's your book about?" question.

It's this or the "I'm a teacher" scene.

Here in the States this type of film was all the rage in the 80s. This one would have been for the most part forgotten if not for the ending. That last minute or so elevated it in to a minor classic. Rare that. Of course you have to see the entire film to understand.

Popular Music from Vittula

Nice movie. This scene shows how to solve the eternal father-son-conflict the classical way.

Admittedly, Fred Williamson cannot be denied in any role, but I prefer my blaxploitation a little more on the urban side. But that's just me, yo.

I've noticed this trend in recent years to try to capture that "grindhouse" feel of film in years far gone. Won't happen though I like the effort. This being true grindhouse fare as the template:

Two favorites from childhood. I seem to be hogging this thread. Sorry, Johannes.

Embedding disabled with this one I believe due to corporate bastards.

The 1st film I went to the movies to see.

I was 4 or 5 when I saw it. Which makes me....shit, does Starbucks sell Viagra frappé? You'd think I'd posted The Birth of a Nation.

Memory is tricky. I can't remember what I had for dinner three days ago but I remember this film as one of the 1st to frighten the shit out of me.

Acting today is lacking when compared to this.

This, and Cool Hand Luke, are my favorite Newman flicks.

Ah, it's Halloween. This one creeped my ten year old self out and still gives me goose flesh.

"No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood for eighty years and might stand for eighty more."

The beers on the roof in Shawshank Redemption.

When the kid Liota leaves court after taking his first pinch in Good Fellas.

The end of Seven Samurai.

The moment George Clooney yanks off his tie and slams it down in Out of Sight.

Every second John Tutturo gets in Lebowski.

Brad Pitt's "You don't be condescendin' me man..." in True Romance.

Patricia Arquette's "What you did was...so romantic." in True Romance.

"I'll be taking these Huggies, and whatever cash you got..."

When Han Solo says "I know." before being frozen in carbonite.

When it starts to snow again in "It's a Wonderful Life." (yeah, I said it.)

When Leon shows Gary Oldman the pin in "The Professional".

When Natalie Portman tells Timothy Hutton to "wait for 5 years" in Beautiful Girls.

Bukfan, I've only watched the first season of 'Boardwalk Empire' so far, but I really liked it.
