(for the record: I love 'Heroes' and the more depressing soundbits on 'Low', but despise 'Lodger'.
What I also liked is the soundtrack to 'Christiane F.', which includes Bowie's two-language-Version of 'Heroes'.)

Heroes in German? That would be this right? I have it on the Bowie comp Changesthree David Robert Jones. Sooo good.

good article, need more attention, but ...I never cared for "Fantastic Voyage" but I think that "D. J." rocks and " Red Sails" reminiscent of the cooler Eno pop songs (pre-ambience), which you have no use for explains the distaste for "Lodger".
