Jed Birmingham runs a William Burroughs site and is currently writing about the 23 Most Interesting Burroughs Collectibles. #12 is Roosevelt after Inauguration. The beginning of the essay discusses Loujon Press, It Catches and Crucifix and "As a Burroughs collector, I am envious of those who collect Bukowski" . Check the link. pretty interesting. http://realitystudio.org/bibliograp...collectibles/12-roosevelt-after-inauguration/

Scott Harrison [...] who owns Abandoned Planet Bookstore on Valencia Street, just missed scoring one of the auction's rarest items: a 1960 first pressing of Charles Bukowski's "Flower, Fist and Bestial Wail".... He was trumped by a bid of $9,775, the highest bid of the day. "In the pantheon of great American literature, that's a bargain," he said. "In 10 years it'll [be] worth $25,000."

Yeah. Or not.

Just curious considering what Birmingham wrote. Does anyone here own a copy of The Genius of the Crowd and if so how much of a big deal, as a Bukowski collector, do you think it is?
