Doug Draime, One of My Small Press Heroes... (1 Viewer)

I'm sad to report that Doug, who has been publishing since the 60s, and was part of the L.A. poetry scene (same time as Bukowski) died on the 17th. For those who don't know Doug's work, find some...he was the real deal...always pushing, never settling, always strinking out for new artistic ground. He was 72, battling a serious lung cancer diagnosis.

Please spread the word to any and all who knew Doug. I'll post more here soon.

About Doug someone once wrote, among other things, "Draime's work is populated by such hard, bleak, desperate and haggard lives, each peppered with startling moments of tenderness, resignation, and naked humanity..." I can get into Doug's work.
