Freedom or loneliness? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone! Recently ran into an image with a supposed Bukowski quote? Sounds like something he would've said, but I looked for it here and couldn't find anything and all Google throws up are images with the quote but no mention of where it comes from.

Quote goes something like this:

"And when nobody wakes you up in the morning, and when nobody waits for you at night, and when you can do whatever you want. What do you call it, Freedom or loneliness?"

Poem or phony?

Sounds like Martin.

It's been said a long time ago:
Here's a good rule of thumb; assume that any inspirational quote-image that you see on the Internet did not come from the mouth or the pen of person attributed. If you assume that every time, you'll be right more often than you're wrong.

Btw, I just checked and it turns out that Bukowski had used word "freedom" less then fifteen times in all his published poems. Go figure.
