I recently got into Bukowski after seeing the Born Into This documentary. I then got a few of his books, and a few more are on order. I've known about him for years but was never interested in this gruff, cantankerous individual--maybe I had to put a few years on myself to appreciate his poetry, wit, and views on the world. Now, I can't get enough, but I don't want to race through his work.
I like his honesty as well as his ambiguity. He was all too human, but with a unique, deceptively simple wisdom--and a great voice.
